TANZANIA PEABERRY
Coffee is an important export for Tanzania with growing regions scattered throughout the country. In the past the industry was dominated by large estate-grown coffees, but now more than 85 percent is produced by small holders many of whom are organized into cooperatives. Tanzania is known for a large amount of small bean or "peaberry" production. It is said that these beans have a more intense flavor and acidity than regular beans. Famous for high quality coffee as a result of it being grown on the hillside of Mount Kilimanjaro.
